A Cotswolds Wedding – Henry & Jessica’s tipi wedding
Henry & Jessica – all the way from Australia
So, the big day arrived. Henry & Jessica’s stunning Cotswold Tipi wedding. Exactly where in the Cotswolds will remain a secret, as this village is one of the most beautiful villages to be found in the area – a little unknown gem! Just call me selfish 😉
Bridal preparation took place at Jessica’s beautiful family home on the edge of the secret village. Jessica, friends and family were in great spirits, although, there were some absentees in the form of the family dogs. This would be rectified later.
The gorgeous ceremony was held in Rendcomb, and passed by very quickly indeed. H&J’s friends and family were very keen to cover the lovely couple with copious amounts of confetti. It was then back to the secret village for the reception.
The Tipi reception
A Tipi reception set the scene, placed in a wonderfully private Cotswold field. And great use of the open space was made, with the speeches being held outside.
I get to see a fair amount of speeches, but I think I’ll recall these for years to come. Jessica’s father started the proceedings with a superb theatrical delivery. Henry, in summary (according to your father-in-law), you are a great lad but to get an A*, you really should own your own vineyard! 😉
Time for the best man speech. It started off quite tamely, and I suspect Henry thought he was going to be spared too much embarrassment. But no, that was not the case, and out came some photographic props to start the process. The killer blow was delivered in the form of a line involving Keira Knightley and some ‘other stuff’. I won’t plunge into further detail, but the effect was obvious, reducing nearly everybody to tears.
I had a wonderful day. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Henry & Jessica’s families for making me feel so much at home. Most of all I’d like to thank Henry & Jessica for letting me be part of such a special day. You are a great couple and it was a delight working with you both.
What follows is my story of Henry and Jessica’s very special day. Enjoy.
